Enter to WIN $1,000 and have your photo on the cover of the 2009 Walker Mowers Beautiful Places Calendar. Two Runner-Up awards of $500 each will also be given and recognized in the calendar.

Entrants should photograph a beautiful location where the Walker Mower is used. Photos should focus on the beauty of the location and show the mower as just a small part of the landscape (see photos below for reference).

We would encourage any entrant to see the 2005-2008 Walker Mowers Beautiful Places Calendars for reference. However, we also suggest that you be creative. We encourage you to recognize the unique and artistic elements of the property being photographed and incorporate them into your work on this project.

2009 Walker Mowers Beautiful Places Calendar Contest Photographer Guidelines:

We would encourage any entrant to see the 2005-2008 Walker Mowers Beautiful Places Calendars for reference. However, we encourage you to be creative. We also encourage you to recognize the unique and artistic elements of the property being photographed and incorporate them into your work on this project.

The main idea with these shots is that the Walker Mower is not the prominent part of the photo but instead is an element of a beautiful photo—many times a very small element.

We appreciate your help in regards to the following guidelines:

  1. Digital photos are preferred. Minimum photo size requirements are 3600 x 2400 pixels (12" x 8" at 300 dpi). The higher the better. For film cameras, please understand that some 35mm cameras do not provide a high enough quality image to be printed in the calendar size.
  2. Subjects should be shot in their native surrounding—no special or new mowing equipment should be used. The person who typically mows the property should be the photographed subject.
  3. Subjects should appear to be mowing and not posing on their mower—suggest not having subject look at the camera.
  4. Photo credits will be given to each photographer in the calendar.
  5. Upon submission, film/files and copyright discretion are property of Walker Manufacturing Company.
  6. Walker Manufacturing Company Employees and their immediate families are not eligible for this contest.

Please submit a minimum two photos of the property for review (one will be the main photo and the other will be used as a thumbnail photo for the property description).

Please also submit information about the property including: location, description of property, names of operator and/or company that maintains the property, any unique details about the property and any other information you would like to share about the property or the people who maintain it.
